The EU at a Crossroads: Upholding Peace, Freedom and Multilateralism in a Changing World, Jakarta, 2025: Full Agenda

This 8–10 December 2025, the EU-VALUES Network gathers in Jakarta, Indonesia, for our international conference “The EU at a Crossroads: Upholding Peace, Freedom and Multilateralism in a Changing World.” Hosted by BINUS University, the event brings together scholars and practitioners from across the globe to explore the EU’s role in world affairs at a moment of profound geopolitical transformation.

Over two days, participants will engage in panels, roundtables, and discussions on key themes including the EU’s approach to international law, democratic values and multilateralism, global conflict and security, the climate–migration–security nexus, shifts in the economic order, and Europe’s strategy in the Indo-Pacific. With comparative perspectives from Asia and beyond, the conference offers a platform to unpack competing visions, challenges, and opportunities shaping the EU’s external action.

Follow us online for updates throughout the conference. Several sessions will also be livestreamed for those wishing to join remotely. Check the full agenda for details, or access the livestream links below:
