Call for Papers: EU-VALUES International Conference, September 2026

Promoting the Green and Digital Transition across Regions

17 - 18 September 2026 at University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) in Rabat (Morocco)


How are green and digital transitions reshaping patterns of development, governance, and international cooperation across Europe, Africa and other world regions? At a time of intensifying climate pressures, geopolitical tensions, and technological transformation, these transitions raise fundamental questions about sustainability, equity, and power in global governance.

The International EU-VALUES Conference on Promoting the Green and Digital Transition will take place 17–18 September 2026 at University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) in Rabat (Morocco). The conference will bring together scholars and policymakers to examine the political, economic, and institutional dimensions of these transformations. We welcome theoretically informed and empirically grounded contributions addressing in English and French, inter alia:

Climate Change, Environmental Degradation, and Sustainability Goals

  • Climate change mitigation and environmental degradation

Political Economy of Sustainability

  • Role of public–private partnerships 

  • Greening of trade via trade agreements or unilateral measures 

  • Greening of global value chains 

  • Trade-offs between economic growth and environmental protection 

Geopolitics and Global Governance

  • The EU’s Global Gateway initiative 

  • The European Green Deal and its external dimension 

  • War, geopolitics, and climate policy (including the Middle East) 

  • The evolving role of multilateral institutions in EU–external economic relations 

EU–Africa Relations, Governance, and Development Models

  • Democratic governance and values in EU–Africa relations 

  • African solutions, African models, pan-African values 

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts of up to 300 words

  • Submission deadline: 1st of June 2026

  • Submission via Google Form

  • Languages: English and French

    All submissions will undergo peer review.

Important Dates

  • 1st of June 2026 – Abstract submission deadline

  • 10th of June 2026 – Notification of acceptance
