Human Rights and Development and Trade Cooperation - Part 1/4 in the HRBA series

This webinar marks the first in a four-part series on Human Rights-Based Approaches (HRBA) to EU development cooperation, hosted by the EU-VALUES Network in partnership with the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies.

In this opening session, we explore the core concepts, frameworks, and global practices surrounding HRBA in development cooperation — and reflect on what they mean for EU development policy.

Speakers:

  • Prof. Fabíola Wüst Zibetti (University of Chile) — Enforcing Human Rights in Global Trade

  • Prof. Kim Taekyoon (Seoul National University) — Asia-Pacific Middle Powers in Global Development

  • Dr. Axel Marx (KU Leuven) — Integrating Human Rights in Development Cooperation

Moderator:

  • Dr. Philip De Man (KU Leuven)

This webinar is organised within the framework of the EU-VALUES Jean Monnet Network — EU Research and Education Network on Foreign Policy Issues: Values and Democracy.

Stay tuned for the next three sessions, which will bring regional perspectives from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
